Illustrations

A number of years I’ve worked as a paid illustrator. My work has been featured in magazines such as Glamour, Avantgarde and Cosmopolitan and in several books. In this sections you can find a selection of the illustrations I’ve made. I no longer do commissions.

For those interested, all of the drawings have been hand drawn using plain paper and pencils or ink. It took me years to develop the techniques to create these kind of drawings, finally enabling me to be paid for making them. When I finally reached that stage the industry overtook me with digital artists creating illustrations in the fraction of the time it took me to make one. Combined with the frenzy of magazine deadlines I was always chasing my own tail finishing jobs which were heavily underpaid.

I’ve quite years ago and since then haven’t made any drawings, which worked out just fine for me. People find it hard to believe I’ve lost my interest in something which I have an obvious talent for, but that isn’t the point. I didn’t keep me up late at night any more. If that happens it’s time to shift gears.
