Despite the gen­eral qual­ity of apple prod­ucts my almost three year old mac­book pro has been plagued by problems.

• The two opti­cal dri­ves never really worked
• It has it’s third hard drive
• The logic board died on me

Recently I started hav­ing ker­nel pan­ics again. That’s not some men­tal dis­or­der but your com­puter hav­ing epilep­tic convulsions.

If any­one out there is expe­ri­enc­ing the same prob­lems, try to remem­ber updat­ing to Fire­fox 4.0 recently. It might very well be the culprit.

As a web designer I of course use Fire­fox and the Fire­bug plu­gin. But after installing Fire­fox 4.0 my screen froze when scrolling and gave me two ker­nel pan­ics in a week. So If you’re expe­ri­enc­ing the same prob­lems just down­grade to Fire­fox 3.6 and you should be of the hook.
